Hi! My name is Karan! I enjoy playing the violin, viola, and
guitar in my spare time, and am part of the Youth Orchestra of
Central Jersey as a violinist. I also strive toward environmental
activism, having recently joined the Citizens’ Climate Lobby as a
means of contributing towards environmental welfare. Moreover, I
volunteer as a student teacher for the Vallalar Tamil School, a
local nonprofit organization that I, myself, graduated from after
8 years of study (Tamil is a south indian language which millions
of people speak worldwide)!

Some clubs that I am active in include
the MTHS 3D Design club, which I am an officer in, as well as the
MTHS Animation Club, the MTHS Mathletes team, the Mu Alpha Theta
International Honor Society, the NJ Science League, the MTHS
Aerospace and Aviation Club, and the MTHS Entrepreneurship Club.
Veering away from extracurricular activities, academically, I am a
part of the MTHS STEM Biomedical Academy, in which I enjoy
challenging myself with interesting courses! Though I have a great
many interests, I am yet to tie myself to any particular area of
study. My intent by pushing myself to try many things is to find
something that I have a passion for, as expressed by Amir Khan in
the hit Hindi movie, 3 Idiots, “Chase excellence and success will
follow.”

After a year of consistant volunteering at the Vallalar Tamil School, I was awarded with the Silver Presidential Volunteer Service Award! Here is a record of my volunteer log!
I was part of the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey as the Principal Chair of the Second Violin Section.
I have also had the wonderful opportunity to go to Austria in order to have the opportunity to perform in both Haydn Hall in Esterházy Palace as well as the Kulturzentrum (Cultural Center) of Saltzburg in an amazing exchange of cultural diversity and musical history! In fact, we had the opportunity to perform with Austrian conductor Daniel Muck, playing his original composition, Wizard Overture.
I am honored to be selected as the Officer of Scheduling for the 3D Design club after a year of membership. The purpose of the role that I was assigned was to plan club meetings, announcing meetings, and assisting the Club President and Director of Activities in updating the club calendar.
